Project 2030
JUSTICE
STABILITY
DIGNITY
The four areas that we address are critical and connected due to disastrous foreign policy and funding decisions.
Any progress made within any one of these areas will positively impact the others.
Nuclear Weapons:
1) Leading candidates for federal office from and in Minnesota make clear their belief that nuclear war is in our future if nuclear weapons are not abolished.
2) A new NewSTART treaty with Russia, including a timeline for reductions and robust verification, is adopted with broad bipartisan support in the Senate.
3) The US adopts a “No First Use” policy on nuclear weapons.
Peacebuilding:
Congress uses its power of the purse to support diplomacy:
1. Peacebuilding accounts within the budget are restored and increased.
Complex Crisis Fund ($55M)
Atrocities Prevention ($6M)
2. State Department funding is fully restored.
International Law:
1) Increased US funding for Contributions to International Organizations (CIO.)
a. This includes the World Health Organization, UNICEF.
b. The International Criminal Court (ICC) indirectly receives approximately $6M through the Economic Support Fund (which also provides the support for atrocities prevention.)
2) Increased US funding for Peacebuilding Operations (PKO,) which directs funds to specific countries.
3) Diplomatic channels are created to reduce violence (even though this does not directly hold the US accountable for its massive human rights violations.)
Immigration:
1) The asylum process is protected, judges increased, and quotas maintained.
2) Immigration is streamlined and accessible.
3) Every human being is treated with dignity and respect.
